Douglas High School Army Junior ROTC participates in the Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge Camp with schools from neighboring Washoe County. This program is typically a 3-5 day program and Cadets remain on site for the duration of the camp. Activities and events include; Rappelling, Obstacle Course, Leadership Reaction Course, Physical Fitness training, Land Navigation (Map Reading/Orienteering). To participate in this event, a Cadet must be passing ALL of their classes, not just JROTC. Cadets will be selected based upon their grades, participation, attitude and overall commitment to the JROTC program. This event is provided at no cost to the Cadet. Uniforms, transportation to and from the camp location, food, lodging and necessary equipment are provided by JROTC. Cadets selected to attend JCLC will bring home a packet of forms to be signed by parent or guardian; to include medical forms, releases and covenants not to sue.
